What is a freight forwarder?
A freight forwarder is similar to a broker in that they both move freight. However a freight forwarder is liable for the freight from the time it is loaded onto the truck until it is delivered to the consignee. A broker does not take liability for cargo at any time.
Do you handle frozen LTL?
Unfortunately, Hannic is not equipped to handle frozen LTL at this time.Our LTL is primarily refrigerated food items with a temperature of 30°F to 40°F. However, we can move frozen truckloads.
Do you handle imports/exports?
Hannic is currently working solely as a surface freight forwarder, handling only domestic shipments.
What are your terms of service?

What are your terms of payment?
Payment is made after Hannic receives the original, signed bills of lading showing that the load is complete. It may be made in the form of a regular check, mailed by USPS 14 days after receipt of original BOLs. Or a carrier may request QuickPay (must be noted on invoice), which payment (less 2.5% QuickPay fee) is made by ComCheck within 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) after receipt of original BOLs.

Do you pay for lumper service?
Yes, as long as the driver informs us of all lumper fees at the end of the load (itemized per stop) and a valid receipt from each lumping service is sent in with the BOLs.
Do you give advances?
Yes, carriers may be advanced up to 40% of the load pay (given by ComCheck) after loading. We do not charge for advances, however there is a small ComData service fee when the ComCheck is cashed.
How do carriers get set up with Hannic?
A carrier can fax their authority certificate, W-9, and Insurance Certificate to us (fax# (815) 436-1734) along with a call-back number and fax number. A compliance manager will review your information and contact you regarding the rest of the set-up procedure.
